Students gain an overview and understanding of current conservation rationales, strategies and concepts.

Students are able to critically question their own strategies, concepts and justifications as well as those of other experts, to place them in the current debate and to develop approaches for dealing with the complex challenges in planning.

Students understand the contextuality of (political) decisions and the knowledge associated with them.

Students learn how to deal with nature conservation strategies in Germany and other European countries and discuss the transfer of planning action in different social contexts.

Students receive and reflect on current scientific debates on the topic of "nature conservation and society".

Students can communicate about nature conservation as a societal task and participate in a discourse about different nature conservation strategies.
